Like the pretty icing on the cake!
This list has a little twist.
It’s not only full of favorite things of mine, it revolves around amazing women entrepreneurs.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Intense Night Cream
(see Five Simple Things to Keep You Sane). I love the stuff. And I love Bobbi Brown. She started as a makeup artist and is now the number one makeup brand founded by a women. I strongly resonate with her quote, “The secret to beauty is simple: Be who you are.” And an added bonus, she founded the Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls, a global initiative dedicated to funding nonprofit organizations that strive to empower women and girls through education. Go, Bobbi!
The Honest Co. by Jessica Alba
This whole line rocks. I’ve been using their super cute, but more importantly, super no-leak, effective, natural diapers for years. My kids love the designs and comfort. I love that they’re made without chemicals and they come straight to my door, right when I need them. Add in the other wonderful products like the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion that my whole family uses; plus, the deodorant and beauty supplies for me – I’m probably a little obsessed. And the fact that Jessica started it because she couldn’t find quality diapers without all the chemicals for her little girls. I like her initiative.
21-Day Fix with Autumn Calabrese
This is a Beachbody program that I started this past summer and it’s my favorite because it’s only 30 minutes a day and it works! Full disclosure, I’m a Beachbody Coach and I sell this program and others. I do it because it really got me back into fitness and helped me shed the 10 pounds I’d put on after I stopped nursing my youngest. I had to get my workouts in first thing as quickly as possible, with as much intensity as possible. So between the 21 Day Fix and my daily Shakeology protein shake (also sold by me through Beachbody), I’m strong enough to take on the world! 😉
Because her music is empowering, she bucked the trends of the blond pop-stars in the early aughts, she flies through the air doing aerial gymnastics while singing at the top of her lungs, and she has an exclamation point in her name. Did you know she’s also a UNICEF ambassador fighting to end child malnutrition? P!nk is totally rock-n-roll! An added bonus – ‘Don’t let me get me,’ definitely leads the play list of women entrepreneurs. Now go jam out. You’ll have fun, trust me!
I hope this made you think of your favorite things. And maybe even encouraged some creativity and brainstorming. If these women can create something that made a favorites list, so can you. I’m ready to help.
As for other, more personal favorite things of mine:
- My kiddos cuddles and kisses. Nothing better.
- Dancing with my husband. Yes, that makes me smile.
- Smores. 2 in the microwave for 15 seconds. Warm, gooey goodness – all without a campfire.
- Pumpkins. As a former pumpkin farmer, I can’t get enough of them in the field, as decorations, or to eat.
- The holiday season. The renewal, refresh, and pure joy between Thanksgiving and New Year’s encourages and enlightens me every year.
- Sleepytime tea. The perfect way to end the day.
The simple things in life are definitely what bring me the most joy and contentment.
