I had the honor of working with the co-founder of Miss Possible, Supriya Hobbs, while she was an engineering student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She and her team had the smart idea of empowering girls through play by creating dolls of real women who changed the world and accompanying apps that teach more about that individual.
They completed a wildly successful Indiegogo campaign in 2014 and their first doll (Marie Curie) has just arrived to the first backers. I can’t love this smart idea any more! They have a whole line of future dolls, currently based on women who have made a difference in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
